The Governance and Research Centre (GRC) is a Centre of Excellence at the University of Makeni dedicated to advancing research, policy innovation, and inclusive dialogue on governance and development. We generate evidence that informs decision-making, strengthens institutions, and empowers citizens.

Established in 2005 as the Good Governance Programme, the initiative played a pioneering role in good governance promotion and post-war recovery efforts in Sierra Leone. Twenty years later, the Governance and Research Centre (GRC) was established under the Programme to meet regional demands for evidence-based insights into governance and development.
