Gender Transformative Approaches in Governance
Gender equality remains at the heart of good governance. Through GRC’s “Women in Leadership” initiative, we examined the barriers that prevent women from participating in political and administrative decision-making. The study revealed that cultural norms, limited access to education, and economic dependency continue to hinder women’s representation.
Our research emphasized that gender-transformative governance is not only about increasing numbers but also about reshaping institutions to value women’s perspectives. When women are meaningfully involved, policy outcomes tend to be more inclusive and socially responsive.
To drive this change, GRC has been partnering with advocacy groups to promote mentorship programs and gender-responsive budgeting. We envision a governance system where women and men equally shape the future of their communities.
